Avoiding War
It seems to me that we have a bad tendency to avoid dealing with the concept of war. We try to ignore that it's there by keeping the images at a distance, but there are people who dedicate themselves to bringing them closer. I think that is really important because if we are willing to go to war then we need to face the realities of it and see what sort of destruction we are wreaking on the world. So when President Obama decided not to release the images of Osama bin Laden, it just continued this whole pattern of avoidance. Apparently, they were too graphic for us. I somehow doubt there is much that is to graphic for Americans, have you ever been to the movie theaters? Here's a link to an article about those who make such things possible.
